So... My issue wasn't with 1password, actually. My issue was deeper. Any time any Apple application made a network request, it slowed down any open Apple app to a crawl (i.e., Mail, Safari, Calendar, Messages, etc.).
I'm not sure what the exact culprit was, but this happened to me before, and I *think* it was because I accidentally ran `rm -rf ~/Applications` and then quickly hit Ctrl-C to stop it. I've done this twice, now. (1/2)
