Did you know that "plate tectonics" has always been changing since the Earth cooled enough for it to start, and at times, plate tectonics may have functioned more like "drip tectonics" than the subduction we know well today?

So many things in the deep history of Earth end up seeming more like the rainbow shimmer on the surface of a soap bubble, than the eternal and permanent things they at first appear to be.

Plate tectonics will end someday too. It has already on other worlds.
