wow you must be a master of video games. You're right tho. I did rush right away and start battling monsters. That's normally how most Zelda's games are. You start battling enemies right away and they make the difficulty level based on how many hearts you have.
botw seemed exactly how you said. You gotta plan ahead and build yourself up before even trying to battle an enemy. It was really my thing but oh well I guess..
