There's something I've been thinking about for a long time. I'm not sure how White Americans think about the white supremacist system they inhabit. For example, what happens when they go out of their way to change the system and realize that they don't have the power to do that? White supremacy definitely uses white individuals as foils. And that confers some indirect benefits to make it more palatable. But white people don't control what the machine does in their name.
