I think even "try your best" falls short of the real beauty of His grace.
Instead of thinking of it like climbing Mt. Everest, getting one km high and putting up a flag that said, "I did my best!" think of it like you're climbing the mountain WITH Jesus every step of the way. He never gets frustrated with you, and never gives you the slightest inclination that you're slowing Him down. You get to enjoy the climb together, and you barely even think about your progress and the speed of it, because you're so enthralled in fellowship with Him moment by moment.
You live in that place: your heart is pure and innocent, and when you do stumble you let Him pick you up, dust you off, and get you on your way like it never even happened.
You hardly ever look down at the sad, low estate from whence you came, nor do you look up at the dizzying heights which you "must" somehow climb, but rather remain in fellowship with Him, enjoying life together.
THAT is the walk of faith.
Man, that sounds amazing, no?
I think I need to give this Jesus guy a try 😂
