I hate my photo being online. When I do, it's usually parsed through anti-facial recognition tech.
And so when I have to submit "proof of identity" photos of myself it's a big turn off.
Am I hiding? No. Am I a criminal? No.
I just very much value my rights as a human being, especially my privacy. And I also believe that exercising my rights even when I personally don't need to is essential in maintaining those rights.
So please, when folks send you their proof of life photos in order to access products and services, exercise discretion and handle them with respect.
