It beggars belief that the town I finished high school in (pop 19,000) had a ban on wood-burning fireplaces as early as the 1980s, yet San Francisco continues to allow them. #SanFranciscoHellscape #AirPollutionEdition
[edit] and to clarify: the ban was on burning wood for home heating - there was no restriction on having a home that contained a fireplace (though obviously such a thing made no sense, given there was no legal way to use it)
