One of the reasons it took me like a month to work myself out of the funk I was dumped in by The Election™️ (even though I'm on the other side of the planet) was that it took some effort to come to terms with the realization that the reasonably decent world I believe to be inevitable is further off than I thought & will probably not be achieved whitin my lifetime (I'm 55). Not that it stops me believing in it, or doing what I can to precipitate it.
