Normally when a company like, say, Red Hat does a fuck-you to the community, it's business motivated. Locking everyone to the Snap Store doesn't seem obviously profit motivated, and, while forcing snaps on Ubuntu-users has an air of Microsoft to it, it's not like they're making money shoving it down users' throats.

It also boggles the mind how they keep touting Snap as being able to be installed on any Linux distribution, as if any distribution but Ubuntu would install snapd by default. ​ I'm just so perplexed on what their end goal is.
