I heard on the news that Syria is getting a new flag. What does that mean for Unicode? As I'm typing this, 🇸🇾 is unicode sequence U+1F1F8 U+1F1FE, the flag of Syria. On my Android phone it displays as the red white and black flag with two green stars. Assuming the news is correct and the current coalition is changing it to green white and black with three red stars, what happens to the unicode codepoint and its display on any particular device?
