I hate disagreeing with John but as a UK resident he's speaking horeshit. Even if the Tories get the kicking they richly deserve, we don't walk into a transformed future bright with possibility; it's going to be more of the same under Labour. Stories of their corruption are already emerging. They hate Trans people just as much, they won't rollback Austerity etc etc. And our Independence Day from Europe 8 years ago pretty much caused most of the damage, so I don't know of a single person here characterising the day as he just did.
That, plus the date is when most Scots are on holiday. That's the Tories trying to sneak a GE on us when we're not home.
