I'm trying to support #nostr by hopping on board with zapping lighyning and doing invoices, etc. To do so requires Web2 compromises that in my opinion we are here to change.
Any Layer 2 comes with the compromise of control by the core layer. I'm happy to "take on a little risk" to have small amounts locked in a Lightning wallet - but seems really off that in order to do effectively, I'm asked to compromise basic privacy with email/passwords + handing over into a custodial service OR setup my own Lightning node which isn't exactly straight forward either + requires hoops to go through to be as private/secure as possible.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here. I hope so bc right now I have BTC to spend, desire to spend, yet can't figure out how to do it.
