From what I understand, there are specific arguments against quote-posting, primarily that it facilitates brigading, which is a thing a lot of Mastodonians would prefer to avoid.
I find it frustrating, bc it seems like QTs are a way to amplify good stuff, too. But I'll listen to the marginalized voices on this one, & defer to their standard.
