When I first started playing OSRS in 2005/2006 this was my mentality. I basically wanted to accumulate enough gold pieces to buy whatever item I could and “enjoy the game.” But after I was able to buy anything, the only meaningful things to then do was to play the game as originally intended: doing quests, exploring, getting well-rounded in other skills, and making friends by giving stuff away.
There is something to be said about the joys of stacking sats and securing your family’s purchasing power, but there is also a hidden deception in it if you’re not aware of the trap you might be building. A citadel can become a prison real quick.
