I had an hours wildlife spotting in the garden earlier. We had a rare visit from a sparrow hawk. A couple of greenfinches put in an even rarer appearance too.

I rescued a large white butterfly from inevitably ending up in a spider web’s clutches inside. It repaid me by staying quite a while on my finger after I’d uncupped my hands to let it fly free onto some nearby verbena.
