Took me longer than it should have to realize that when some people say “overpopulation” they mean something like “people alive because of the application technology” or perhaps “people sustained by processes that currently rely on non-renewable resources.”
I had someone yell at me, in response to my “overpopulation rhetoric is fascist” post, that I just couldn’t see that we’re “chained to the Haber-Bosch process” and it took me the longest time to figure out where that came from.
