As a reminder, a lot of advice about not using PGP really is advice about "don't try to turn email into a secure messaging service", because that's not even close to possible. If you need secure messaging, use a secure messaging medium (like Signal). Don't try to bolt "security" on to an un-securable medium like email.
And once you stop trying to use email as a secure messaging service, you find PGP has a lot of downsides and barely any upside, if any, for non-email use cases, and is almost always outclassed on both ergonomics and actual security by more modern purpose-built tools.
