Whether you like it or not, countries establish trade, political, and military alliances within themselves based on certain poltical, geostrategic, and cultural values. So, it's no wonder that citizens of country A can get more easily into citizens of country B if there's been an historical, almost century-long alliance between those two countries. What is strange is when this doesn't happen.
