Night, all! 3am alarm for 4:15am milking. And what we call dry-off is tomorrow. It's the worst activity in the dairy every fortnight, as it measurably increases the amount of shit that has to be hosed away after milking, and involves both someone pregnancy-checking the animals - 40ish tomorrow - with the well-known hand up the cow's backside technique, and intra-udder application of preventive antibiotics for them (that will be my job).
