I follow freely and indiscriminately, especially if someone has boosted my stuff and has profile descriptions/graphics. I don't pay much mind to who follows back.

But this thing keeps happening. If I see a hostile, preachy, or unpleasant take, and it's boosted into my feed, and I go and look at the booster... it will so often be somebody I followed who never followed back. Which makes "boosted a shitty take, strike one, g'bye" feel as natural as breathing.
