When I connect my Commodore 64 up to a TV with S-Video input, I get this pattern of dots and lines on the screen. This doesn't happen when using the composite output, but of course then the quality is worse.
I know that S-Video has different voltage levels than the C64, and sending it through unaltered can create weird video glitches. But the video cable I'm using is meant specifically for the C64, and was advertised as including a resistor in the S-Video connector to lower the voltage to the right level.
So why does this still happen? Any idea? Could the cable actually not have the right resistor?
