I actually strongly disagree with y'all here. Docker is a shit implementation of it, but the idea has merit.

I know a dude who is a UNIX greybeard from back in the days of drum memory and shit and the amount of drama he has upgrading packages on a FreeBSD desktop is bonkers. Upgrade something, oops it needs thislib upgraded, whoops that broke something else dependent on it.

If these are jailed, with their own copies of libs, the issues go away. Disk space is cheap.
