The company where I work recently transferred custodianship of their 401k program and in the meeting someone asked the question that was designed to highlight the effects of inflation-that saving money is hard. I think he's somewhat cynical at this point so wasn't really a constructive question.
Anyway, I later asked him if he'd figured out how to combat inflation and if he knew much about $BTC. He went on that he knew some friends that invested in it w/ varying degrees of profit/loss and I tried to make a statement about it being more than just an investment (I don't remember now exactly what I said).
I was a bit surprised at how he wasn't really even curious to learn about $BTC. He was more excited to explain that he thinks the best thing to do is just spend all his money right now. He's probably in his mid to late-thirties, I'm in my late 40s.
Is this the mindset so many people have now? That there's no way out of the bad things in the world so might as well drink, dance, and be merry while we can?
