In the wake of recent fee changes and subscriber models, #POEai users on Reddit are evidently plotting a boycott. #POE subreddit has been seething with user anger of late, recently tipping a boiling point. Of course Quora’s #ArtificialIntelligence platform needs to make $$, but rolling it out with much fanfare and spinning the changes as opportunities and user benefits when they are clearly $$ grabs, was horrific #PR and reflects not only poor planning but hubris and entitlement. They could have been honest, up-front, a decided to go the low-marketing road instead. Something like: “We’re raising fees and restructuring subscriptions at this moment because [list relatable and justifiable reasons: costs, R&D, ongoing dev, adding new stuff, empowering users, etc.)” #quora #business #BusinessCommunications #spin
