Someone on Mastodon linked to an article that looked interesting. I clicked on it, got part-way into the article, and was presented with a “to finish reading this article, create an account” message. I closed the tab.

What are your thoughts (especially #writers ) Should I be able to read your work without providing my personal information and agreeing to be forever spammed? I’d happily click a button “anonymously send the author $2 to continue reading” without having to sign up.
