Just took me 5 minutes of mastodon to realize what a vast disconnect there is in the community over the usefulness of large language models.

I’d happily think I was deluding myself, but the stuff I’m building actually works, isn’t stealing other peoples code, empowers both me and my users, is pushing my legacy codebase into the modern times with great documentation and unit tests, and I do that with a couple of minutes of actual inference time over the day.
