Pay more for housing and transportation, spend less on culture: Israeli expenses revealed

According to the data from the National Insurance Institute, in 2025, the weight of housing expenses increased by 0.8 percentage points to 26.8%, compared to 26% in the previous consumption basket. The weight of the transportation and communication section increased by more than 1 percentage point and reached 18.6% in the basket, compared to 17.5%. The education, culture, and entertainment section decreased to 9.3%, compared to 10.1% in the previous basket; significant gaps were found between the quintiles.
