You can improve a NIP-05-like naming system by linking it to bitcoin.

Example:
1. Pick any name
2. Hash and sign the name with your Nostr private key
3. Complete a bitcoin transaction with this signed name in OP_RETURN
4. Tell Nostr the txid
5. Nostr displays the name in this signed transaction
5. If there are any name collisions, defer to the tx with the lowest block height

Benefits:
- Pay the bitcoin security budget with transactions rather than domain registrars
- Less trusted, more seizure-resistant, more censorship-resistant than domain ownership
