Severance S1. Watched this on the recommendations of my friend Aurélien. It's a mind blowing series both in the metaphorical and - in many ways - the literal sense since it revolves around a technology that allows employees of the Lumon corporation to fully separate their work lives and their personal lives. For all intents and purposes, these employees are two different personalities that know nothing about the other. Except that Mark and his team are starting to wonder what it is that they do exactly for Lumon, and indeed what it is that Lumon does. The show's build is a bit reminiscent of the best Black Mirror episodes, not set in a futuristic society, but set in a society very comparable to ours, with just a few technological changes whose impacts are examined. It's a stunning, thought disturbing show, with only one major drawback: the season ends on the worst of cliffhangers, in the middle of the apparent resolution. Daring, and frustrating. Now to wait for 2025 to see Season 2 and hope for some answers. #tvseries #scifi #sciencefiction #corporate
