Lone Starr (nprofile…vl2z) That's one aspect of it, but there's more to it than that - either the villains are Not-Villains who the author actively sympathizes with (and who we inevitably find gay and lame, for the same reason that shitlib heroes are gay and lame), or they're incompetent, deplorable Hate Sinks who are blatant stand-ins for the left's IRL opponents, and are just there to be humiliated as a form of wish-fulfillment, which just makes the heroes look like insufferable Mary Sues.
You make your heroes look good by making your villains look good, not by having your heroes effortlessly stomp the villains.
