I do agree that he didn't hate slavs. And that he definitely did not try to genocide them, the reality doesn't support that narrative. The soviets were simply whipped into a frenzy because of propaganda, making it a sequel to the time Napoleon invaded. And a sizeable amount of them volunteered to fight alongside Germany, not just Ukrainians but also Russians.
