IBM was going from company to company, finding potential patent violations, threatening to sue, and then offering to settle by licensing the potential violating patents in exchange for whatever the company had patented. This worked fine until they got to PR1ME. PR1ME hadn’t patented anything! IBM didn’t *really* want to take their patent claims to court; that was too risky and expensive. So they just said, “Um. Okay. Never mind.” And went on to the next company.",
