I have often heard in my life that ignorant are the most dangerous people. Let's apply this to a compost pile.
You are excited to start composting and full of good will you think you are doing the right thing just adding food scraps to a pile instead of sending it to a landfill. you think that you have done your part.
But you are ignorant of the fact that too much greens in a pile will cause your pile to go anaerobic and will create very bad smells.
Now you are in front of two choices:
- Learn more about compost and realize your mistake, you did not add any carbon material to your pile. Now that you know better you are willing to fix your mistakes and do it again.
- The other choice is to quit compost because you failed or it was too complicated and you prefer to spend your time explaining that compost is a scam and that it does not work for you.
