In order for the environment to have an specific effect, you gotta have a biological template that accommodates this possibility. I believe (I'm certain) that male sexuality is MUCH more plastic than these studies claim because anthropological papers show that in different cultures and at different times there have been a variety of different sexual practices that were widespread among men. Homosexual pederasty was widespread among men not so long ago, how can most of them be straight now if the environment played no role? However, it is more complex than this. Men are not as fluid as women. Certain (I think a smaller amount of) men are so highly predisposed to have certain sexualities that they will have it in almost all environments. I suspect that once a man was born with (or acquired) a certain sexuality, they cant change, thats what studies seem to indicate. Convertion therapy used to be practiced before the LGB movement on various sexual orientation and paraphilias and none seemed to change a man's genital arousal patterns. This young dude for instance is an autogynephile, he doesnt seem to enjoy it but he cant change it, he can only keep it under control. I've come across several men who attempt everything to change an orientation or paraphilia and can't.
