Spent much of my weekend re-reading the Church Committee final report in preparation for my surveillance class. If you're not familiar, this was the special Senate committee formed in the wake of Watergate, etc, to investigate abuses by (and in the name of) intelligence and natsec agencies (such as the infamous COINTEL program).

The report is long, but remains jaw dropping half a century later. (See Book II for domestic activities).
