gave up on #ubuntu, put #fedora 39 on. everything worked first time. all the oauths, 1password connections, all of it. just. worked. dammit. i used to be such an ubuntu partisan too but they screwed the pooch with snap, apparmor setup etc… only had to install appindicators and dash-to-dock and i was right at home.
(vanilla adwaita looks like shit though. ubuntu's yaru is much prettier. without even being different in metrics these days, it’s just much more balanced.)
