I stuck a green check emoji in my profile, primarily intended as a cheeky 'up yours'. I would certainly not swipe and use a Musky blue mark, since as you say that's not a positive thing. Maybe that novelty has worn off...
Since Mastodon doesn't (yet) have a validation/verification system check marks or any other mark is more like a tattoo, to each their own. 🤷♂️
