Instead of Texas seceding, why not just kick certain states out of the union. NY and all of NE can take a hike, and California could be forcefully carved up and parts kicked to the curb. In the case of NY, just get rid of the island and it would be a normal state. Jersey, not sure what to think of Jersey. Nope. There ya have it.
