My short time using Mastodon has been chaotic, not a consistently positive experience. One defining characteristic of Mastodon, up to this point, is that it's a refuge for some rather uppity damaged people with a lot of PTSD triggers. It's a social minefield: you never know when your innocent stroll through the meadow is going to trigger something awful that you couldn't see coming.
