Why is it a point of such pride not to block people on fedi? Like, I block people. I don't have to do it that often because in general I try to limit my exposure to people who would deserve it, but I'm not reluctant to do so.
Is it lingering freeze peace bullshit? Is it this idea we've somehow absorbed that blocking people is weakness? That it leads to echo chambers or safe spaces or whatever? You think muting someone doesn't have the same effect?
I'd rather you block me. Then I know where I stand. If you mute me, I learn nothing. I get no feedback. And I'm not saying that's never appropriate, but I don't get why folks are so proud of their refusal to enforce boundaries.
