Genuine question: how much of this is people aware of the problems but thinking they can cash out before investment collapses, so they don't actually care if there is no future profit?

And is there some similar thinking going on for political parties, as they so often seem to be run by profiteering grifters nowadays?

Is this the age of pump and dump dominating everything?
