I think of JavaScript native (no transpiling) as a pragmatic choice, particularly in the sense of early personal computers ( offline mode meant for stakeholders, i.e., no servers, no admins). I can see why the professionals often despise it, though. The fact that I can append an integer to a string without converting it to the proper type makes me feel funny. All kinds of red flags there, but it works, and is roughly as fast as adding via a toString function. I guess the perspective is "render".
