The defense is usually “yeah something happened but she wanted it.”
The chauvinistic joke used to be “rape is when the woman changes her mind afterward.”
But the defense that “she made the entire incident up out of whole cloth because she hates me” is nuts.
A friend of mine with much more criminal defense experience agreed and added, "And not sitting through your own trial is insane. No way he wins this one."
