Private health providers dumping emergencies on the #NHS is not a new scandal - it's been hiding in plain sight for decades. The consultants who benefit from private surgery (in particular) have been happy for it to be under the radar.
I worked in a number of cardiothoracic units which were obliged to admit patients to their ITU / ICU facilities when 'something went wrong' at a private hospital during or after surgery.
Private surgery is fine when everything goes according to plan, but the NHS picks up the problems.
(I've been retired a while now, and cardiac surgery is much less problematic than it used to be years ago).
