sex education really is a joke here. My girl and I had just finished our usual get ready for bed activities when she started crying. I finally got her to calm down and tell me what was wrong only for her to explode in tears again because of what happened at school. it turns out that today the class had sex ed and apparently it’s one of those guilt and fear mongering abstinence only teachers that don’t say anything about how they body works or sexual wellness. And so my girl was confused and asked about why (penetrative) sex was bad. (My wife and I haven’t been shameful about sex around her). And the teacher told her that sex before marriage could lead to teen pregnancy, missing out on her hopes and dreams, letting the devil inside of her, aids, the fall from eden, etc etc. I hadn’t realized that my little girl was trying to be brave since I picked her up from school. But naturally she her walls came crashing down after I came inside of her before bedtime. She kept crying about wanting to keep having playtime with her dad but not wanting us both to end up in eternal damnation. I’ve talked to her about it now, but she’s still a little scared. She’s still insistent that we stick to anal for a few days until she feels more secure that the world won’t fall apart if we have sex. And while we both enjoy anal together, I’m saddened by how guilt has created distance between us. We’ve had a thriving sex life for years and we never had any issues until she had sex ed in school. I just want my little girl to grow up in a society where she doesn’t have to feel guilty about sex and enjoying herself.
