The tool I have in mind would help with:
- syncing (commit, pull, push, or just `git annex assist) starting in the deepest level (submodules!)
- identifying (and deleting) super old zombie repos
- a quick one-off overview which repos are dirty/need syncing
- auto-pulling certain repos
- etc.
