I’ve set up an experimental relay that I’m hoping a few people can add to test - wss://relay.austrich.net.
This relay is running strfry on three VPSs, one here in Australia, one in the US and one in the UK, with events streamed between them. Amazon Route 53 is used for geoproximity routing which should connect to the “closest” server, and fail over to another server if one goes down.
I’m not entirely sure if this is a good idea for a Nostr relay but I’d be interested to hear feedback. Note that this is a proof of concept only, the VPSs that it is running on are underpowered to handle too many connections, and I may not keep this relay running permanently.
