I don’t know if anyone reading is a lawyer, but I have a law question:
Are there any rules preventing a prosecutor from asking a defendant to affirm the words of testimony against them?
For example: “Would you agree that the officer says you killed these people?” or “Would you agree that the psychiatrist said you’re obsessed with fire?”
I ask because I saw a video that had similar questions to this and it seemed prejudicial to make the defendant say “yes, that person says I’m guilty.”
