I meant no replies to your Mastodon post, not to your dating profile, if that wasn't obvious.
Being brutally honest—I would say that's probably not a great photo for that kind of context. The stubble is probably a negative for some people. Either have facial hair or shave, not somewhere in the middle. And you could definitely take a photo which makes your chin/neck area look better for sure.
You don't need a fish, but why not depict yourself with some relevant activity or object, not just looking at the camera?
Maybe do a photoshoot type activity with a friend, take a lot, and then pick the best ones.
People ARE shallow, and judge quickly based on photographs. Give them some options.
