But there is very little relevant to the "now" here in most of the UK, like we should all be in hibernation in a Dickensian winter.

Of course for those of us living in a winter wonderland that's a bit different! I kind of envy your snow. We've not even had a decent freeze yet here in Norfolk. But there are quite a few weeks of winter ahead so we shall see.
